Privacy
This is a translation. If in doubt, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Who is responsible
Arcania Online, the owner of this website. For anything about your data: dev@arcaniaonline.com.
Your data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and the Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD).
2. What data we process, why, and on what basis
If you sign up for the ALPHA
- The data: the username you ask for, your full name, your email, your country or region, the language in which you signed up, the dates on which you signed up and confirmed, and the version of this text that you accepted.
- What for: to manage your place in the ALPHA (choosing who is invited and writing to them), to let you know about the game’s launch and its important dates, such as tests or the opening of registration, and to send you our newsletter with news about the studio and its games, including commercial news, such as a new game or an offer. We do not sell your data, we do not give it to anyone for their own purposes and no profiles are built.
- On what basis: your consent, when you tick the box (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, for commercial emails, Article 21 of Spain’s LSSI). You can withdraw it whenever you want with the “Unsubscribe” link in every email, or by writing to dev@arcaniaonline.com.
When you visit the website
- The data: like any website, the server records the IP address, the date and time, the page requested and the browser. The form uses the IP address, without storing it, to stop anyone who tries it too many times in a row.
- What for: to protect the website from abuse and attacks, and so that nobody uses it to send emails to third parties.
- On what basis: the legitimate interest in keeping the website secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
3. For how long
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| A sign-up that is not confirmed | It is deleted automatically after 48 hours. |
| A confirmed sign-up | For as long as you stay on the list: until you unsubscribe. Then it is deleted. |
| Server logs | 14 days. |
| Backups, which are encrypted | They are renewed every day: whatever is deleted disappears from them after 14 days. |
4. Who else sees it
Nobody receives your data to use it for their own purposes. These providers store or move it on our behalf, under a data processing agreement:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Oracle (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) | The server where the website lives, in its Madrid (Spain) region. |
| Hostinger | The email account we write to you from (dev@arcaniaonline.com). |
| Google (Google Drive) | Where the backups are kept, encrypted before they leave the server. |
Some of them may store data outside the European Economic Area. When that happens, they do so with the safeguards the GDPR requires: an adequacy decision, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or standard contractual clauses.
5. Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to it and take it with you, and withdraw your consent whenever you want, without affecting what was done before. Write to dev@arcaniaonline.com from the email address you signed up with. We will reply within one month at most.
If you think we have not handled it properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, https://www.aepd.es).
6. Minors
The ALPHA is for people aged 16 or over. If we find that someone younger has signed up, we delete their data.
7. Cookies
This website uses no cookies: no analytics, no advertising and no third-party content that sets them. Fonts and images are served from the website itself. The only thing it stores is that you have closed the cookie notice, so as not to show it to you again, and it stores this in your own browser (in its local storage, not in a cookie): it never leaves your browser, does not identify you, and you can delete it whenever you like from your browser settings. If a cookie were ever needed, it would be stated here before it is set.
8. How it is protected
The data lives on the website’s server, and only the program that uses it can read it. Confirmation links are stored only as a hash (not the link itself) and expire. The website is always encrypted (https). Backups are encrypted before they leave the server.
9. Changes to this text
If anything important changes, everyone who has signed up will be told by email before it applies. This is the version of 8 October 2026.
